Abstract
- The authors discuss the study "Cardiac resynchronization sensitizes the sarcomere to calcium by reactivating GSK-3ß," led by J. A. Kirk in the December 2013 issue of the "Journal of Clinical Investigation" on the benefits of cardiac-resynchronization therapy (CRT). Topics addressed include improved cardiac function and symptoms in heart failure patients, enhanced myofilament function via phosphorylation, and suggestions that dyssynchrony might be beneficial.
