Endoscopic ultrasound-guided tattooing of a retroesophageal parathyroid adenoma.

The article describes the case of a 74-year-old woman with primary hyperthyroidism (PHPT), representing the first report of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided tattooing of a retroesophageal parathyroid adenoma. Topics discussed include the causes of PHPT, the techniques used to detect parathyroid adenomas, and the uses of EUS-guided tattooing. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results and images of the endoscopy and computed tomography are also presented.
