Abstract
- The article offers the author's insights on the 2011 "Green Paper on Land Reform" and the use of expropriation as legitimate alternative method for land acquisition in South Africa. Topics include the adoption of the willing-buyer-willing-seller principle, the problem with the market value principle and the willing-buyer-willing-seller method to determine the market value of compensation, and the importance of expropriation for land reform purposes.
