Abstract

The article examines the predicament of young people in Hong Kong, China who are seeking to disassociate themselves with mainland China, highlighting the Umbrella Revolution that started in September 2014. It states that most young people in Hong Kong do not consider themselves Chinese as the Chinese government has destroyed the Chinese culture. It notes that most residents in Hong Kong believe that China is attacking the city's political values, economic well-being, and culture.
