Abstract

The article looks at climate change policies in post-socialist states. Particular focus is given to regional cooperation on climate policy and to states' concerns about the impact of efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on economic development. Topics discussed include the 1997 Kyoto Protocol for emissions reduction, states' membership in the European Union (EU), and policy concerns in Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.
