Abstract
- The article discusses women workers in munitions factories in England during World War I. It examines the establishment of the registry the Women's War Register and the government organization the Ministry of Munitions. It discusses the training and work of factory worker Ruth Dodds, describes working conditions in munitions factories such as the National Filling Factories, and the training of engineers during the war. It also discusses child care provided in part by the Ministry of Munitions and the leadership of the group the Women's Engineering Society co-founder Katharine Parsons.
