Abstract
- Partial multihoming is a new direction of the research of two-sided markets, differentiation of platforms is very common in real economic life. This article considers a competition model when two platforms are different and users partially multihoming, then compares three situations when two platforms price synchronously and sequentially. The research finds that prices of two sides of platforms are positive, bigger platform predominate over small platform at price, number of singlehoming users and platform profit when two platforms price synchronously and smaller platform prices firstly. Whatever bigger and smaller platforms tend to let competing platform price firstly, increasing of network externalities of two platforms will cause the increasing of multihoming users, finally we adopt case and data of competition of commercial banks to verify conclusions of the model.
