High oleic peanut varieties may be future.

The article presents the views of Jason Sarver, research professor at Mississippi State University, regarding trials of high oleic peanut varieties conducted in Mississippi, presented at the summer peanut commodity meeting of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation as of September 2014. Topics include the Georgia 12Y variety which is a high yielder and has small seeds, the disease resistant TufRunner 511 variety, and performance of these cultivars in different row patterns.
