Abstract

The article discusses a study about the role of the site of Shuitangba in preserving a unique, terminal Miocene fauna. The study looks into the three superposed lignite beds that typify the Zhaotong Formation at Shutangba. It offers a paleomagnetic analysis of Zhaotong Basin sediments further constrains the temporal range of fossil-bearing strata.
