Abstract

The article discusses a study that evaluated acute respiratory exacerbations (AREs) among indigenous children from two countries who have chronic supperative lung disease (CSLD)/bronchiectasis. Observed for three years were 36 children from Alaska and 57 children from Australia and their medical records reviewed. Conclusions indicated that all children with CSLD/bronchiectasis exhibit AREs but can be prevented with clinical care even when strategies of treatment may be vary as to AREs risk.
