Abstract

The article focuses on the study which aims to show the correlation between measures of atherosclerosis and clinical ischemic heart disease in lupus patients. It states that the study was conducted on 103 systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients. It mentions that the Carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT) correlates moderately with total plaque area (TPA) and suggest that they measure different phenotypes of atherosclerosis.
