Abstract

The article offers the author's view on the liquid chromatography (LC) methods that should be used when scaling an isocratic separation method. The author states the use of fundamental equation as a guide in method conversion. The author notes that the linear velocity is independent of column length but proportional to cross-sectional area of column. The author mentions that the pressure in LC separation is important to pressure capability of instrument.
