Abstract

Reflects on the United Nations (U.N.) peace keeping operations in Africa. Utilization of sub-regional arrangements such as ECOMOG in Liberia and Sierra Leone and MISAB in the Central African Republic in undertaking local peace operations; Lack of funds and logistics in sustaining regional peace operations in the Economic Community of West African States; View of Africa as the region most in need of the U.N.
