ESTATUTO DA CRIANÇA E DO ADOLESCENTE: COMO GARANTIR O DIREITO À EDUCAÇÃO?

The Statute of Children and Adolescents emerged from a milieu which lacked true protection for this vulnerable group of people who suffered much, due to social hindrances and to the lack of interest by the State. Its true intention is to work in favor of a class that required and demanded true protection. Education is the center of discussion in current paper which debates such an important and fundamental right in favor of children and young people. The 1988 Brazilian Constitution is underlined throughout the themes under discussion and every care is meted out to the Statute of Children and Adolescents. The funding of basic education was dealt with critically and efficaciously in favor of this vulnerable group. The possible materialization or not of such guarantees is also debated.
