The article offers information on the significance and role of the Discipline Standards Task Force created by the State Bar of California to maintain the efficiency of the state's attorney discipline system, minimize the violations of the state ethics rules and increase the effectiveness of the Standards for Attorney Sanctions for Professional Misconduct. It analyes the efforts of Karen M. Goodman, chair of the new task force, in maintaining discipline standards of the U.S. lawyers.
