Abstract

The article presents the authors' views on the article Global Burden of Disease Study 2010 published in a previous issue. They comment that provided the most comprehensive attempt to quantify the burden of almost 300 diseases, injuries and risk factors is shown in the study. They opine that most of the neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) currently listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) are disablers rather than killers witha few exceptions.
