Abstract
- The article discusses criticisms, as of July 24, 2014, of investment management firm Pacific Investment Management Company (Pimco)'s analysis of the Cypriot economy as the basis of the 2013 Cypriot economic bailout. Topics addressed include a separate study by investment company BlackRock that suggested that the Cypriot banks did not need as much bailout financing as Pimco recommended, as well as the views of Panicos Demetriades, president of the Cyprus central bank during the crisis.
