- Reports on a high-performance liquid chromatography method that effectively separates the dye protoberberine alkaloids, in the `Diamond Sutra,' the oldest dated printed book from Dunhuang, China. Detection of berberine in dyes extracted from tiny fragments of ancient papers; Detection of the yellow compounds palmatine and jatrorrhizine.
