Abstract

Demonstrates that the observed non-universal scaling of fracture apertures can be reproduced without recourse to multiple growth mechanisms. The use of quantitative fracture simulations; The significance of the break in slope to the fracturing process; The effect of stress perturbations induced by larger fractures.
