Studies the vasodilatory effects of maxdilan, a peptide from the salivary gland of house fly `Lutzomyia longipalpis'. Potency of maxdilan concentrations; Arterial relaxation resistance to inhibitors; Dependence on cyclic AMP; Potentiation by phosphodiesterase inhibitors; Inhibition by protein kinase A inhibitor; Observation of reduction in intracellular calcium.
