New York City removes staff at women's shelter.

Informs that New York City has removed the entire staff of the Bronx's New Day shelter for battered women. The only shelter for battered women run directly by the city; Dismissals after Department of Investigation found workers' sex abuse of the women; Other corrupt practices found, including use of drugs and alcohol on the job, and allowing abusive husbands and boyfriends into the shelter at night.
