New light on dark history.

The article reports on the efforts undertaken to decipher the writing system of the Mayans. American, Sylvanus Morley and Anglican, Sir Eric Thompson, both contributed to the discovery and interpretation of Mayan artifacts and relevant Mayan studies. Two books were even published about the Mayans which are, "A Forest of Kings," by Linda Schele and David Friedel and "The Blood of Kings," by Linda Schele and Mary Miller.
