ÇAVDIR AĞZINDAN DERLEME SÖZLÜĞÜ'NE KATKILAR.

The dialects are under threat of extinction for reasons such as the proliferation of mass media, the rise of the education level and the migration from villages to the cities. Therefore, each word, phrase, proverb, and each of the dialect properties that are detected and registered relating to the lexicon of the dialects are very important. In this study, the dialect of Burdur city's Chavdir district is considered. Firstly, 87 words, 28 idioms and 3 curses from Chavdir dialect that are not included in the eclectic dictionary are presented. Then, 35 words and an idiom of Chavdir dialect that have different meanings than the eclectic dictionary are identified. Also, 45 words, 5 idioms and a curse that are used in Chavdir dialect but are not phrased as Chavdir dialect in the eclectic dictionary are considered. The aim of this study while researching the lexicon of the Chavdir dialect is to contribute to the dialect researches and to the works on making up the dialect atlas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
