Abstract
- A critique is presented of the poems "The Heavenly Image," "Heinz Widerporst's Epicurean Confession of Faith" by the German philosopher F. ( Friedrich) W. J. Schelling. Particular focus is given to the relationship between Schelling's philosophy and his poetry, including in regard to his philosophy on art and his use of satire to critique philosophy. The impact of the impact of the Italian medieval poet Dante Alighieri on Schelling's poetry is discussed.
