Abstract: The article discusses papers presented at the First Internationale Frieberg Conference on Electrochemical Storage Materials that was held in Freiberg, Germany on July 3-4, 2013. Topics discussed included the evolution of lithium-ion batteries to meet the demand for storage of renewable energy, material and technology reviews, and the future of electrochemical energy storage. It mentions 15 invited plenary speakers shared their views and knowledge concerning battery technology.
