Abstract
- The article discusses the poetry of English Elizabethan-era poet Thomas Watson and argues that it was well received by contemporaries primarily because it is similar to the poetry of English poet Edmund Spenser. Topics discussed include the praise the two poets often gave each other, Watson's use of the Petrarchan sonnet poetic form, and Watson's book of poems "Hecatompathia or Passionate Centurie of Love."
