Glencore Xstrata PLC's Las Bambas copper project will be acquired by a consortium of MMG Ltd., Guoxin International Investment Corp. and Citic Metal Co. BHP Biliton Ltd.'s opening of a new iron ore mine in Pilbara, Western Australia. Rio Tinto decision to gift its Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. stake to two charities including Alaska Community Foundation and the Bristol Bay Native Corp. Education Foundation.
