Ecologismo y democracia en el centro de trabajo: un análisis de la argumentación ecosocialista a favor de la democracia industrial.

This paper analyzes six instrumental arguments that ecosocialism, one of the main sensibilities of political ecologism, has offered in support of workplace democracy. Its aim is to determine whether this proposal is, apart from its possible coherence from a normative perspective, an effective tool to achieve their social, economic and environmental goals. The first section reviews the main features of ecosocialism and the concept of economic democracy. Then, we present the six instrumental arguments and analyze their validity according to the results of different case studies. The text concludes with a reflection about the role of democratic management of production units in the practical realization of the social and economic model advocated by ecosocialism.
