Abstract
- Highlights: [•] ‘Pathological’ ionic dysregulations caused GABA release from cerebellar nerve endings. [•] GABA exit was by multiple processes including Na+/Ca2+ exchangers and GAT1 reversal. [•] GABA and glycine exited differently in spite of their abundant colocalization. [•] Novel therapeutic targets useful in ischemia and epilepsy could become available. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
