Abstract

The article provides literary figure John Spencer's arguments defending his enclosures in his works. The commodities of pasture and considerations shown in the article prove that it is necessary to have them. In primus by enclosure there is fat iovys and moutons two times a year which cannot be past once a year in no fallow field in the best year and some fallow fields which are none. In one item of enclosure there is great breed of sheep. And the ewes going in pasture spend little hay or none by reason of coming after the danger of winter pasture. In another item when the great rain comes or great drought or other unreasonable weather the pasture sheep enjoy. In another item it is elaborated that to make new houses is not requisite for there is more houses than there be men to dwell in them in many villages and towns except in places nigh to the sea coast or the City of London in England. Another item argues that the Statutes of Laborers may be better in Execution than they have been.
