- Discusses the imagery of William Shakespeare's poem 'Venus and Adonis.' Editors' belief that the poem was written during an outbreak of the plague in 1592; Relevance of the imagery that Venus uses to celebrate the lips of Adonis that she has just kissed for the first time; Inconsistency between the words 'crimson' and 'verdour.'
