- Looks at Airbus Industrie's efforts to create a partnership with Italy's Alenia to build China's Air Express regional jet. The Future Large Aircraft project expected to be used as the model for the partnership; Airbus wanting Alenia's help in developing the A340-600 and the A3XX; The AE-100 being the breakthrough project in the Aviation Industries of China's (AVIC) efforts to establish China as a major aerospace manufacturing power.
