Construyendo una esfera pública multiétnica.

The current work analyses the conditions of media production made by and/or for the Latin American immigrants in Germany (radio and TV programs, press and digital publications and virtual communities). Qualitative interviews were conducted with immigrant media makers from different German cities. The term "ethnic media" is criticized and it is argued in favour of using the concept "diasporic media". Moreover the importance and role of these media in order to construct an "ethnic public sphere" and its articulation within the public sphere of the German mainstream media are also discussed.
