Abstract

Presents a study which shows how actin bundling in vivo, is disrupted by single amino acid mutations in Drosophila. Fascin encoded by singed locus in Drosophila; Partial inactivation of fascin in vivo resulting from mutation that changes glycine 409 to glutamic acid; Gnarled bristles in severe singed mutants due to defect in rapid cytoplasm transport during oogenesis.
