EDUCAÇÃO EM DIREITOS HUMANOS E PROMOÇÃO DA SAÚDE NA COMUNIDADE.

The aim of this study was to understand the social and environmental reality of a local community in the municipality of Teresina (PI), and to try to find ways of understanding and meeting the needs of the population, identifying solutions that could address the main social concerns. At the same time, the work was designed to contribute to the training of undergraduates in this area. Transversal research was essentially based on a random sample of 43 families. Questionnaires were completed at the subjects' homes, between June and July 2011. The findings revealed a situation of vulnerability and social risk in the families, characterized by low wages, low levels of education, poor sanitation conditions, a prevalence of informal employment, and restricted access to health care.
