EXTENSÃO UNIVERSITÁRIA COMO ESPAÇO DE VIVÊNCIA DO CUIDADO INTEGRAL EM ONCOLOGIA.

Acolhe-Onco: multi-disciplinary care for cancer patient university social extension program was created to improve care for cancer patient and his/her family, as well as to promote a multi-disciplinary learning program for students. This paper presents rationale and theoretical/methodological framework of this Program at São Paulo Federal University (UNIFESP) and describes the results obtained from August 2008 to April 2013. Our results showed that the multi-disciplinary approach to cancer patient, which is the core of our program, promotes a more integral and humanized care. In addition, our students can learn the complex network of oncological care, contributing to the development of knowledge and practices in health promotion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
