Acción ante la recesión: el compromiso de las bibliotecas con los ciudadanos.

The Spanish libraries have suffered the consequences of the financial crisis due to the cuts in their budgets. This paper shows the initiatives carried out by the Spanish libraries in order to give library service during this economic recession. They are based on the results of the project “Libraries in action". Here, the libraries shared their experiences about how they have created specific actions in order to manage their services and get resources with reduced budgets. It also shows examples of community involvement to support libraries. The experiences have been grouped in different sections, offering the commitment of the libraries with the citizens and some examples of initiatives carried out in Spanish libraries during the years 2012 and 2013.
