- The article discusses the impact of New York's policy of shifting 6 billion dollars in Medicaid spending on long-term services for disabled and aged people to managed care companies as of May 8, 2014. Topics addressed include managed care companies' efforts to enroll clients who do not need as much care as severely disabled people; the impact on residents of adult homes; and managed care company CenterLight's efforts to sign up individuals who were sheltering in hotels during Hurricane Sandy.
