Abstract

Abstract: A novel poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) microcarriers coated with nanolayered chitosan(Cs) and carboxyl modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-COOH) via self-assembly method, has been successfully prepared for better loading and sustained release of gatifloxacin (GFLX). Due to the multi-loading and gradient release properties, PMAA/Cs/CNTs could adsorb a great amount of drug (84.89±9.63μgmg−1), and 64.74±2.78% of its loading could slowly release in 24h, which is important to delivery GFLX effectively and to reduce the risk of side effects.
