Abstract
- Hemoncose is a parasitic disease that affects ruminants and is present in most regions, especially the tropical climate. The occurrence of severe usually is associated with inadequate management fact that favors massive infestations. The disease cause profound anemia, lethargy and weight loss. This paper aims to report an outbreak of hemoncose in a farm producing beef cattle in Santa Isabel do Oeste, southwest region of Paraná. Four animals in the farm of a batch of 50, showed weight loss, listlessness, and submandibular edema, and one developed a more severe, which was euthanized to perform the autopsy. The animal was severely anemic, with pale mucous membranes and viscera and marked edema widespread . The abomasal mucosa was reddened and swollen, dark red contents and countless copies the parasite. The diagnosis was determined by observation of the lesions presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
