The importance of validating proposed genetic profiles in IBD.

In this article, the author reflects on the importance of validating genetic profiles in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Topics discussed include diagnosis of inflammatory disorders with the help of serological testing with antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA), incorporation of genes to differentiate between controls CD and UC patients and information on how to distinguishing between UC and CD.
