Abstract
- The article discusses the author's research into the role of the Polycomb group (PcG) component gene Enhancer of Zeste [E(z)] in preventing the overproliferation of somatic gonadal cells in Drosophila. Topics include details of the experiment's observations of mutant E(z) testes, germ cells' function in turning on early-stage somatic cell markers, and the suggestion of a non-cell autonomous role of the histone transferase encoded by E(z).
