Abstract

Highlights: [•] A Pseudo-nitzschia morphotype, P. sp. Port Dickson, found in the Strait of Malacca, Malaysia, was described morphologically and characterized molecularly based on both field and culture specimens. [•] The morphotype was designated as Pseudo-nitzschia kodamae sp. nov. [•] The species produces the amnesic shellfish poisoning toxin, domoic acid.
