Abstract
- The article reports that former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman Mary Schapiro, U.S. Senator Charles Grassley, and others are urging the SEC to shorten the 10-day period within which investors who have acquired 5% or more of a firm's stock must disclose that fact. Published reports have described how some activist investors have been able to profitably exploit that 10-day window.
