Abstract

The article discusses the role that the training of the Army Air Forces (AAF) pilots played in U.S. air power over the German Air Force (GAF), or Luftwaffe, during World War II. An overview of the training AAF pilots in aerial gunnery, including AAF Training Command's perspective that it was the weakest dimension of its training program, is provided.
