RESEARCH ON ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS LEVELS OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: EXAMPLE OF ULUDAG UNIVERSITY.

A survey study has been realized in May 2013 by 445 students studying at Uludag University Vocational School of Social Sciences in order to research the environmental awareness levels of university students. In the survey questions intended to determine what the environmental problems are both in Turkey and in the world, the opinions of the students in respect of preventing such problems and at what degree the students contribute to mitigate the effects of environmental problems by their attitudes in daily life has been included. Thus the awareness levels of the students regarding the environmental threats that the humanity faces and their prevention has been searched. After all the students contributing the survey have a degree of environmental knowledge but as they do not feel responsible for the protection of environment, their knowledge and attitudes towards environment could not turn to attitudes that are beneficial for the environment.
