Abstract

Presents evidence that FixJD54N transcriptional activity is enhanced by phosphorylation of an alternative residue in a reaction that requires the FixL of Rhizobium meliloti and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Effect of oxygen; Key role of Asp-54 of FixJ in oxygen signal transduction.
