Abstract
- Investigates whether electrochemical sodium and electrochemical proton ion gradient are used directly for the synthesis of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in Methanosarcina mazei. Coupling of methyl transfer reaction to ATP synthase activity; ATP synthesis driven by electrochemical sodium ion gradient-translocating methyl transferase reaction and artificial gradients.
