An essay is presented which discusses the naval tactic of using small warships in naval warfare and military missions, including the small fleet of ships known as flotillas and the cost effectiveness of using small combatants. An overview of naval strategies against the enemy, including in regard to the enemy's capabilities and the resilience following military action, is provided.
