Abstract

The essay explores the impact of electronic books on the publishing and reading of children and youth literature. Considerations include picture books, the use of color and illustrations in such print books, and limitations of electronic readers. Other subjects include book reviews and sales ratings by the newspaper "New York Times," the use of interactive digital technologies in the creation of electronic books for children, and lack of book awards for children's literature written in electronic formats.
